We are pleased to announce that CareOregon MAC member, Kristin ‘Kay’ Dickerson, was selected as one of only two medical assistance recipients to serve alongside elected officials and healthcare providers on an 11 person Task Force on Individual Responsibility and Health Engagement.  The group was created by 2013 House Bill 2859 and is responsible for creating recommendations for 2014 policy and legislation dealing with member engagement in personal health decisions.  The task force will develop proposed mechanisms to meaningfully engage OHP members in their own health, disease prevention and wellness activities.

Kay Dickerson has a long history of advocacy as an OHP member.  In addition to being a CareOregon MAC member, she also serves on the Board of Directors of the OHSU Family Medicine at Richmond Center and is an active with the Oregon and Northwest Regional Primary Care Associations. Aside from her advocacy work, Kay is an accomplished trumpet player for a number of marching bands in town, including the Beat Goes On and the Power Pep Band.

We are so proud of Kay’s work to improve member experiences and look forward to the positive impact she will have on healthcare transformation.

Congratulations Kay!
